The road closed after the crash

POLICE revealed today that an 18-year-old woman died following a single vehicle crash on the Monmouthshire border yesterday.

The incident happened on the A466 between Bigsweir Bridge and Redbrook around 8.20am.

Gloucestershire Police said the driver, who is from Bristol, died at the scene.

Police closed the road for more than seven hours while the incident was investigated.

Traffic was diverted onto the A48 and A449 and the road was reopened at around 3.45pm.

Firefighters from Malpas and Monmouth attended along with appliances from Gloucester.
