ONE lucky Gwent organisation could boost its funds by £5,000 in a cash giveaway.

Monmouthshire Building Society Charitable Foundation will award the cash to one community-based or charitable organisation which applies successfully.

The Foundation will accept applications for smaller amounts of funding, but for those organisations which would like to purchase a more expensive item but lack the funds, the this is a golden opportunity.

Since its launch in 2000, the Foundation has contributed over £100,000 to more than 200 local organisations and charities.

Organisations from all walks of life can apply for funding, such as the arts, education, youth groups, the elderly, the hospice movement and support groups.

Among those to have benefited in the Gwent area in recent years are the Friends of the Newport Ship, Rogerstone Rugby Football club, Cwmbran Centre for Young People and Alway Amateur Boxing Club.

Penny Reeves, chairwoman of the Monmouthshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, said: “For twelve years, the Foundation has bestowed a significant amount of money to a wide spectrum of worthwhile organisations and causes.”

“We are now delighted to have the opportunity to bestow a more substantial financial award than normal to one lucky local organisation who we consider to have a worthy need. We invite any local organisation which meets our eligibility criteria to apply for this award of up to £5,000.”

Application forms, which include eligibility criteria, are available from any Monmouthshire Building Society branch or by visiting monbs.com/mbscf Applications must be submitted by February 20, 2013.
