Girl rescued from canal embankment in Pontnewydd near Cwmbran

A GIRL was rescued from a canal embankment in Pontnewydd this afternoon.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the girl was rescued from the side of a canal embankment near a recreation ground at Glenside, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, at around 2pm.
Fire crews from Malpas, Cwmbran and New Inn attended and she was taken to hospital by ambulance, but her injuries are not known at this time.
