Biker collides with van near Royal Oak Toby Carvery on Chepstow Road

A MOTORCYCLIST was hurt after colliding with a van on Newport's Chepstow Road at 7pm this evening.

Gwent Police confirmed that the biker has reported back pain but said the injuries are not life-threatening, and the road near the Royal Oak Toby Carvery has not been closed.

Nice to see that no one is jumping to conclusion about blame or that there are none of the mean and ill thought through comments regarding this story as compared to the comments relating to the early crash on the SDR ...is it that Argus readers are beginning to show some empathy or is it because the story doesn't involve a child, and the younger generation haven't got any respect, haven't been brought up properly have all gone to bed at this late hour or there wasn't major traffic chaos that delayed their journey or inconvenienced them too much?...hope the back gets better soon

I heard it was caused by some bloke called Toby, running across the road in front of traffic. Probably a publicity stunt. This incident occurred just up the road from the Wayfarer Cafe, where they server freshly cooked food all day (Monday-Saturday) at very reasonable prices.
