TWO Gelligaer men were arrested at Heathrow Airport after nine stun guns were seized by Border Force officers.

The pair, a father and son aged 69 and 30 from the Caerphilly town, were stopped after stepping off a flight from Delhi at Terminal 4 on the evening of Thursday 10 January. Their journey had begun in Bangkok.

It followed the discovery of the weapons hidden in items of luggage.

The men remain in custody and are being questioned by investigating officers.

Border Force Heathrow Director, Marc Owen, said: “Stun guns are prohibited under the Firearms Act and clearly these kinds of weapons can be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands.
