Newport garage to raise cash for St David’s Hospice

A NEWPORT car dealership has chosen to raise money for St David’s Hospice Care this year.
Wessex Garages, based in Newport Retail Park, has picked St David’s as it’s charity of the year for 2013.
The charity provides hospice care for people with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and it costs around £5.8 million a year to run its services.
This decision means when the garage holds fundraising events throughout the year, the proceeds will go to St David’s.
Kris Broome, director of fundraising and lottery at the charity, said: “Weare thrilled to receive the support of Wessex Garages at Newport Retail Park.”
There are still some spaces left for the St David’s Newport half-marathon on March 3.
