POLICE have made a fresh appeal for information about a man at the centre of a murder investigation, releasing a picture of his car.

The last believed sighting of 24-year-old Kyle Vaughan of Newbridge was on the A467 between Risca and Crosskeys, some time between 11pm and 11.45pm on December 30th 2012.

It has emerged that Kyle’s car had been involved in a collision on the same night at around 11.45pm. Kyle's car, a silver Peugeot 306, has been found.

It is believed Kyle was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, ¾ length denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.

Officers are urging anyone who may have seen Kyle, his car, or anything suspicious on the road to come forward.

A 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder and a 21-year-old man and 15-year-old boy, both arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, are still in police custody.

Senior investigating officer Detective Superintendent Peter Jones said: "Specialist search officers have been deployed and detailed searches of several areas continue.

"Family liaison officers are providing Kyle's family with support at this very difficult and upsetting time.

"I'm urging anyone who has any information about Kyle's disappearance, no matter how unimportant it may seem, to contact Gwent Police on 101. Information can also be passed on with complete anonymity via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
