THE site of Monmouthshire charity Happa is up for sale, it has emerged.
Gregory Farm, in Brockweir, shut down over Christmas following “mounting local pressure” and to protect the animals from “misguided supporters”.
Acharity spokeswoman said rumours in the area that the charity was killing horses had led to staff being verbally abused by members of the public, despite there being no truth to the claims.
The charity is nowconsidering offers for the 83.3-acre site, which includes pasture, woodland, a house and visitor centre, up for sale at £600,000.
The spokeswoman added staff consultations were ongoing to decide whether to reopen and the board of directors is reviewing the options.
