Brynmawr man who 'hit another man 14 times' to be sentenced

A VALLEYS man who hit another man 14 times before kicking him in the head and knocking him unconscious will be sentenced next month.

At Newport Crown Court yesterday, Gareth Hadley, 29, of Sunnybank Court, Brynmawr, admitted attempting to grievously harm Jason Clay on January 5 this year.

John Warren, prosecuting, told the court Hadley administered 14 blows and a kick to the face.

Matthew Thomas, mitigating, said this was Hadley’s first time before the court and asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

Judge Stephen Hopkins QC ordered the report and adjourned the case until March 11 for sentence.
