THE sudden death of a 14 year old girl has been described as “the saddest thing that can happen” by her head teacher.

Pupils at Wyedean school were told of the tragic death of classmate Natasha Scott-Falber on their return from the half-term break.

Natasha, from Canon Lane, Caerwent, was found by her dad Mike Falber at his home on the morning of Valentine’s Day.

It is thought the 14-year-old aspiring West End star died from septicaemia.

The sad news had already rippled through the community before the school re-opened on Monday, according to Wyedean head teacher Clive Pemberton.

He said: “There was a sombre, subdued atmosphere around the school on Monday, as you can imagine. Natasha was a girl who was so full of fun and energy.

Music and drama were a very big part of her life and that showed in her character.

“Students have come to see me about a memorial and Natasha’s close friends will guide us in what’s going to be most appropriate to remember her by.

“It’s an incredible shock, one of the saddest things that can happen in a school. All our thoughts are with the family.”

Natasha’s peers in year ten sat and listened to a tribute to her in an assembly with year 11 on the first day back. Counselling has been offered to pupils.

The teenager was also one of 325 girls at the Angel School of Dance, Chepstow, due to take part in a performance next month.

Principal Angela Fryer said they were feeling the loss of such a well-respected and muchloved member.

She said: “It’s heartbreaking to see somebody who had so much talent and loved something and it’s gone. Natasha loved to dance and you could see that watching her. It was hard for the girls to come in on Monday.”
