8:20pm Wednesday 27th February 2013 in News
IN THE midst of the horse meat scandal, the controversial issues of food safety and the risks of non-compliance will be discussed at a conference held at the University of Wales, Newport.
In light of the recent media coverage of horse meat being found in some brands of supermarket burgers and ready meals, several speakers at the conference will refer to case studies and relevant legislation on food standards.
The event, at the university’s city campus tomorrow, is the latest in the Taking Responsibility series held by the Business Accountability and Responsibility Centre (BARC) research group within Newport Business School.
The centre focuses on research that is of direct interest to business.
The conference will focus on Food Law and features some of the UK’s leading experts on food safety and hygiene regulations.
