THE leader of Monmouthshire council spoke of his sadness that up to 150 jobs are set to be axed at Tesco's Magor distribution centre.
Cllr Peter Fox, leader of Monmouthshire County Council said: "It's always sad when we hear of job losses and especially when they're so close to home.
The proposal to cut 150 jobs is a massive blow to local employees and their communities.
The county council will be talking to Tesco to better understand the situation and we will be doing all we can to help and support those who could be affected."
