Yes.

And a new Town Development Manager, Brian Adcock, had been brought in, and he was going to work wonders.

When I asked him at a talk he was giving, at a Small Business Club meeting, held in the Newport Centre in 1988, why the then new-to-be bus station would not or could not be built in front of the railway station, or even over the railway itself, he gave as a reason that Regalian Properties would not like it, because they wanted the town to be centred more around John Frost Square area, and that therefore is where the bus station had to be.

He's the idiot that said"what Newport needs is more high rise buildings for office space".At the time Chartist towers had it's usual several floors windows emblazoned with posters advertising 1000,s of sq.feet of vacant office space available to rent.At the same time people were complaining about the lack of parking in the "city" centre and the traffic congestion.
