Lorry hits lamp post which falls onto car in Gilwern

AN HGV lorry collided with a lamp post which then fell onto a car near Gilwern.
Gwent Police said the lorry was travelling westbound on the Heads of the Valleys Road when it hit a lamp-post on the slip road of the Aberbaiden roundabout. The lamp post then fell onto a Mercedes Estate car at 11.15am on Friday.
The driver of the car was assessed by paramedics at the scene as a precaution, but neither her nor the lorry driver were seriously injured and the road was not closed.
