Blaina man killed in Abergavenny crash named

THE man killed in a car crash in Abergavenny was last night named as 46-year-old Mark Anthony Francis, from Blaina.
The crash, which happened at around 7pm on the A465 between the Abergavenny turn-off and the Hardwick roundabout, involved Mr Francis, a pedestrian, and two cars, a silver Ford Focus and a blackVWPassat.
On the Gwent Police Facebook page, where details of the crash were uploaded, there were tributes to Mr Francis.
Jonathan Mavrick Coburn wrote: “Terrible news,” while Donna Jones wrote: “So sad, myheart goes out to the family.”
Sian Davies wrote: “Tragic accident for everyone concerned… so sad.”
Lisa Hale wrote: “It is awful, I feel for the family and the drivers and passengers of the cars.”
Michelle French said: “R.I.P Mark mate, never forget you.
God bless, you were a legend.”
Mr Francis was walking along the A465 carriageway just before 7pm. He died at the scene.
Gwent Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the crash, Police are particularly interested in speaking to anyone whomay have seen a lone man, wearing dark clothing, walking in the A465 carriageway leading up to 7pm.
