TV PERSONALITY Tony Robinson, of Time Team and Blackadder fame, visited Rougemont School in Malpas, Newport, to celebrate the launch of his new children’s history books.
Mr Robinson went along to talk to pupils in Years 5 to 8 about his fun and exciting new history books – Tony Robinson’s Weird World of Wonders.
He visited the school last week in conjunction with The Chepstow Bookshop and gave a very entertaining 40-minute talk to pupils in the infants’ school hall.
Helen Marshall, marketing development manager at the school, said: “It was all very interactive, very funny.
“He wrapped one student up like a mummy. He did a book signing, posed for photos.
The pupils thought it was fantastic. They had a great time, as did the teachers and sixth-formers who kept popping in. Everyone was laughing, It went down really well.”
Pupils also got the chance to buy one of the new history- based books and have it signed personally. The Chepstow Bookshop sold various titles of the Weird World of Wonders, including Romans, Greeks and Egyptians.

I would be interested to know if anyone from the school brought to Tony Robinson's attention the plight of the medieval ship and the funding crisis facing it.
