A WEST End dancer who took over the running of a Torfaen dance school is holding her first show.
Charlotte May Davies, 25, returned to Cwmbran to take over as principal of Suzanne Sims School of Dance last year.
Miss Davies, who has worked alongside stars like Gareth Gates, Pixie Lott, Graham Norton and Alan Carr, took over from her former teacher Suzanne Sims.
The school, now called the Charlotte May Academy, is based in St James’ Field, Pontypool and has 100 pupils aged between two and 20.
The pupils will perform in their first show under Miss Davies’ direction at the Congress Theatre on April 2- 6.
Miss Davies said: “I’m very proud of my students and they have worked very hard for the upcoming concert.
Everyone is excited to see it.”
The school teaches ballet, tap and modern jazz, as well as theatre and hip-hop.
Miss Davies was three when she started lessons at the school.
Since then she has performed with the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain and gained a degree in dance and theatre arts at the London Studio Centre, for which she won a scholarship when she was 16.
Tickets, which cost £8.50 for adults and £8 for concessions, for the concert are on sale now from the Congress Theatre Box office on 01633 868239 or www.congresstheatrecwmbran.co.uk
The show times are Tuesday to Friday, at 7pm, and Saturday, 1.30pm and 7pm.
