A CHRISTIAN music singer and songwriter from New Inn is releasing her second album this month.

Jules Jones, 43, is releasing her eight track album, entitled Agape Outpouring, on May 10 at a free event at St Matthews Church, Pontymoile at 7.30pm.

This is her second album, with the first, entitled Dunamis Downpour, going global with listeners from as far as America.

She said: "On my second album I wanted to do the production myself so I have tried to strip the music back to basics on some of the tracks.

"My musical style is from soul and gospel music and this comes across on the album."

Ms Jones writes the lyrics herself before recording them in a studio.

She said: "The songs are quite personal as I write from experience but I hope that other Christians can use them to worship. I hope that the tracks move people closer to God and it touches them."

Ms Jones found God after what she describes as "following her own path in her twenties."

She said that she ended up divorced, bankrupt and lonely as a single parent.

But ten years ago she found her way back to God and took up the post as a worship leader with Two Locks Church, Cwmbran.

She added: "I lead people closer to God through music- its fruit for the soul. I turn to it when I’m happy or sad and I hope it helps guide people."
