THE PARENTS of missing Newbridge man Kyle Vaughan have said their lives are “not worth living” as the fifth month of his disappearance looms.

Mr Vaughan will have been missing for 20 weeks tomorrow.

Police launched a murder investigation after Mr Vaughan's silver Peugeot 306 was found on the A467 between Risca and Cross Keys on December 30 last year.

Since then eight people have been arrested in connection with the former Cwmcarn High School pupil's disappearance, four of them on suspicion of murder. All eight have dates to answer bail in June.

In a new statement released by his parents, Alan, 53 and Mary, 51, they said: "This is the longest time we’ve been without our son. We still don’t sleep well – it’s like groundhog day every day, making two breakfasts instead of three.

"Mary is worried sick, missing Kyle is making her feel like life is not worth living without him.

"We still haven’t got the answers to the questions we need, and we wonder why people are still walking around after committing a crime.

"All we want is Kyle home and some closure. We have complete confidence that Gwent Police will bring the perpetrators to trial, it's just a matter of time, and we appeal to anyone who hasn’t come forward yet to reveal even the slightest bit of information. "We are seeking comfort from friends and family, we are all grieving together and united in seeking justice for Kyle."

Since Mr Vaughan’s disappearance family and friends have organised a search of the area surrounding the crash site, set up a Facebook page with more than 17,000 members to raise awareness, set up a poster campaign and leaflet drop, and in March organised a walk in Newbridge to highlight the search.

The family have also presented search and rescue charity SARA with more than £500 raised by the The Celtic Heart Bracelet appeal.
