IRISH four-piece alternative folk-rock band In Their Thousands are touring the UK for the second time, reaching Over Stowey Village Hall on Sunday (May 26).
The band, made up of brothers Aidan and Declan Mc Clafferty, their cousin Ruairí Friel and longtime friend Liam Kelly, has mass appeal.
With beautifully crafted songs, dynamic arrangements, powerful vocal harmonies and hooks, the band’s sound can only be described as diverse.
As one of Ireland’s best emerging talents, their live set changes from stunning vocal harmony laced with acoustic acapella folk to edgy electric alternative rock in a seamless progressive crescendo.
After forming in 2011, the band has attracted a loyal troop of fans. Last November they won the Guinness/Hot Press Play On the Day National Final, a competition for up-and-coming talent.
Judge and editor of Hot Press magazine Niall Stokes said: “In Their Thousands were absolutely brilliant.
"The feeling among the judges was that this is a band with huge international potential.
“They are superb musicians making a truly original and epic noise.”
Tickets cost £6 (£5 in advance from Strings ’n’ Things of Bridgwater or call 07713693012).
