Braintree: Traders slam council's use of Portas funding amid shop closures

3:00pm Friday 14th June 2013

Worried traders fear for the future of a small shopping precinct after three shops announced they will close.

Krafty Moos and Party Pavilion, both in New Street, will close by the end of the month, while Sweet Memories is also planning to shut at the end of the year.

Party Pavilion will continue trading online.

Businesses in that part of town have criticised Braintree Council's use of government funding awarded through the Portas Pilot scheme.
