Firefighters tackle grass fire near Cwmbran Forest Drive
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a large grass fire near a Valleys beauty spot this morning.
South Wales Fire and Rescue’s Twitter feed said it was dealing with a grass and bracken fire above Cwmcarn Forest Drive since 5.30am this morning.
The services’ control room says a single crew, from Risca, is dealing with the fire 50 metres by 20 metres in size.
The fire is not thought to be near any property, and was put out by 10am.
