Police officers investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the A472 at Newbridge on Sunday evening have identified the dead cyclist as a 30 year old man from Oakdale.
The collision, between the cyclist and a mini bus, happened at approximately 8.05pm. The cyclist and mini bus were travelling in the same direction toward Blackwood when the incident happened.
The cyclist was taken to the University of Wales Hospital Cardiff where he later died.
The 43 year old driver of the mini bus arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are supporting his family at this time.
