A dementia sufferer is urging fundraisers to sign up for a charity walk.
Graham Browne, from Peacehaven, was diagnosed with a rare form of the illness known as Picks Disease.
The 56-year-old is now calling on residents to sign up to the Brighton Memory Walk on September 8.
Money raised from the event will go to the Alzheimer’s Society.
He said: “The work they do is so very important, particularly when trying to increase dementia awareness.”
There is the option to do a two or 10-mile route which both begin and end at the Royal Pavilion.
Also taking part will be Morgaen Warner whose grandmother died in 2009 of Alzheimer’s.
He said: “I am thrilled to be taking part in this year’s walk. It’s raising money for a fantastic cause that is close to my heart.
“I am encouraging others to sign up and fundraise for those living with dementia and their carers.”
It is estimated that almost 3,100 people across Brighton and Hove are living with dementia but only 40% have actually been diagnosed.
