Usk tidal power
Brian Federick wants Newport to be "one of the first cities to harness tidal power" with a barrage across the Usk.
Call Newport 'Casnewydd'
Swap the names Newport and Casnewydd around, giving a stronger identity considering there are 14 other Newports. 'There's no other city called Casnewydd'. Don Parker
A barrage which could "improve" the waterfront and allow for a river taxi between Newport and Caerleon.
Make the most of Chartist tower
Urban designer Lauren says 16-storey Chartist tower is a "landmark for the city whether we like it or not' She wants to see it taken on by people in creative industries with a gallery and office space. Ben Milsom suggested a 3D projection onto the Chartist Tower.
Technology clubs for young people, who could then use the skills they learn to help local businesses. Nick Theodorou
Newport needs creative centres like Chapter in Cardiff and the Watershed and Paintworks in Bristol bring lots of people to city. Joel Hughes
Russell Britton wants to see a new museum celebrating photography, film and art from Newport and city's history. Also suggests a cafe-quarter.
Setting the city up as an international cruising hub
Newport to become a centre for specialist sport, investing in the velodrome for smaller sports as well.
