Two passengers have been taken to hospital with what are thought to be "minor injuries" Stagecoach say.
The spokeswoman added: "The vehicles both sustained damage as a result of the incident and the bus station is currently out of use.
"Our staff are working hard to minimise delays to services, however there will unfortunately be some disruption to bus services this evening."
TWO Stagecoach buses hit each other this afternoon, in what a spokeswoman for the company said was a "low-speed collision" on Glyndwr Road, outside Cwmbran bus station.
Eyewitnesses say the town centre is 'gridlocked' after this afternoon's crash.
Eyewitnesses say two buses have collided - one has hit railings and the other is badly damaged.
There are no reports of injuries.
TWO BUSES have crashed in Cwmbran town centre this afternoon. One bus, operated by Stagecoach collided with railings near the town's shopping centre.
An ambulance is at the scene.
