A CONSULTATION is being held on a proposal to move a Newport post office.
The Post Office is inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on its proposal to move St Julian’s post office from its current location at 86, Heather Road, next door to larger premises at 82, Heather Road.
The subpostmaster at St Julian’s has been successful in an application to the Welsh Government’s Post Office diversification fund, which will allow the branch to be extended in new premises.
The new post office will have a brand new serving counter, set within a bright, modern, spacious environment offering retail services alongside Post Office products and services. The premises will offer good level access and low level facilities for wheelchair users.
Post Office field change advisor, Lisa Barton, said: “We know how important the Post Office service is to the community and we feel sure that our customers old and new will welcome the new, more modern branch along with the ability to access Post Office services alongside a broader retail offer. This move will help secure Post Office services in the community for the future”
During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on October 29.
The move is proposed to be made in November, subject to a successful consultation.
Submissions can be made during the consultation by post at Freepost PO Consultation to Post Office Ltd, National Consultation Team, St Albans Post Office, 14 St Peter’s Street, St Albans AL1 3AA, via email to firstname.lastname@example.org, via the customer helpline on 08457 22 33 44 or via textphone on 08457 22 33 55.
