TREDEGAR House went back in time last weekend when it transformed itself into a 1930’s house party.
Crowds of people turned up at the house in their glad-rags on September 27 to strut their stuff as Tredegar House opened extra late for their 1930s house party.
Tredegar House in Newport which has celebrated its first year as a National Trust property this April has welcomed more than 44,000 visitors through the gates since 2012 with events such as this.
The evening which was the last in a series of ‘Late Night Friday’s’ that have taken place at the house, saw guests turn out to celebrate Tredegar House’s most infamous era in style with drinks and dancing.
Dancing included traditional dances such as the Jitterbug, where guests danced to a live band before enjoying cocktails in the gardens.
Period costume was on display in the evening and classic cars were parked in the grounds during the day.
Harriet O’Brien, Events and Marketing Assistant said: “We were all really excited to be hosting such a fun event, the whole team have been perfecting their dance moves and dressing the house to reflect its most notorious era.’
