A NEWPORT community project which grows its own veg will serve up homegrown and cooked soup to its staff to celebrate World Food Day this Wednesday.
Duffryn Community Link’s “plant to plate” project in the grounds of Tredegar House is now in its 25th week. Jane Lewis, learning co-ordinator at the Community Link, which has been part of Duffryn from more than a deacade, said: “Growing food and learning about it is such a social event, you can have a cup of coffee and talk to people while you’re planting. We also teach people what they can do after they have successfully grown them too. It’s wonderful to be able to be part of the whole process and share this with others.”
