A NEW project has been launched by Welsh monuments and heritage body Cadw to help visitors follow 6,000 years of dramatic stories across the country.
Plans to connect Wales’ historic sites for the first time were launched by Cadw’s Pan-Wales Interpretation Plan on Monday.
It aims to make physical and thematic links between places and sites so that people can relive different periods in Welsh history through inspiring experiences.
Cadw plans to roll out more themes over the coming months through its Heritage Tourism Project.
Themes to be rolled out in South Wales include the Origins and Prehistory of Wales, which will feature sites such as Caerphilly Castle.
John Griffiths, Newport East AM and minister for culture and sport, said: “The Pan-Wales Interpretation Plan aims to bring Wales’s history to life for locals and visitors.
“Once completed, we hope that the themes will inspire people to get involved, celebrate and share the story of Wales’ rich and diverse heritage and culture.”
