THE Blackwood and District Crime Prevention Panel has met Gwent’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Ian Johnston, to outline its future work programme and how his office might support it.
The panel, comprising voluntary members, is keen to get more young people involved in its crime prevention work, an aim backed by Mr Johnston.
He has provided £1,000 to support projects identified by panels across Gwent, which help residents in the areas they cover to prevent crime and protect themselves and their properties from crime, supported by Gwent Police.
The panel’s vice-chairman, Brian Wilkins, said it is grateful for Mr Johnston’s support.
