TWO firefighters were pushed and subjected to verbal abuse as they responded to a fire alarm in Chepstow last night.
The two members of the Chepstow crew were in the Bulwark area of Chepstow at around 9.50pm.
Huw Jakeway, chief fire officer for South Wales, called the attack “mindless”.
A spokeswoman for Gwent Police said: "Police received a call at 10.05pm from the fire service requesting assistance to a property in Bulwark Chepstow where there had been an alarm activated.
The spokeswoman said a man at the location was being abusive and obstructive to fire and police officers. "
Police are now investigating the incident.
