Two arrested after cars crash into wall, Griffithstown

TWO people have been arrested after two vehicles crashed into a brick wall in the early hours of Saturday morning, following a head-on collision.
The collision between the two cars, happened just after 3.30 on Saturday morning on the corner of Sunnybank road and Coedygric road, Griffithstown, Pontypool.
The crash woke neighbours, Pauline and Roy Williams, who live opposite to where the incident occurred.
Mrs Williams said: “I heard an almighty bang and we both woke up and went to the window.
“The two cars were in the wall. The fronts of them were completely folded up."
She added that the fire engines had to cut the car door off.
Four police cars, three fire engines and an ambulance attended the incident.
A spokesman from Gwent police said two people were arrested at the scene. No serious injuries were sustained.
South Wales Fire and Rescue confirmed that one casualty was taken to hospital following the collision at 03:37.
Inquiries are ongoing.
