A CHILDREN’S soft play centre has been awarded as the best in Wales after being nominated by parents.
The Eden Centre in Aberbeeg was voted by parent website Netmums to be awarded as the best indoor soft play centre in Wales 2013 this month, despite only opening its doors just over a year ago.
Founded in 2000 Netmums is the UK's fastest-growing online parenting organisation with over 1.2 million members and 5 million visits, offering offering information to mothers.
The centre co-managed by Pete and Trevor Jones since July 2012, aims to give children a relaxed an enjoyable playing experience in the best possible facilities.
The centre has worked hard to build up its reputation by achieving a five star hygiene rating from its onsite cafe.
Co -owner Tevor Jones said: “I am very pleased with the award.
“It is an award that we have wanted to acquire and the customers enjoy what we have at the centre.”
The centre also runs music, craft, dance and toddler sessions, catering for babies as well as children up to the age of 13.
Pete Jones added: “We have built up our reputation due to our five star hygiene rating, and facilities that are second to none.
“It is a facility that children can enjoy and provides fun for all the family.
“The award is really good for us and for business.
“This is the first time that we have done it and we have won.
“It is nice to have some recognition and to know what parents really think of us and the feedback we have had from parents had been superb.
“We have managed to build a really strong business in a climate that is going against the grain.”
The Eden Centre will shortly be receiving a certificate to mark the award which will the owners plan to frame at the centre.
In the next two months the centre will also be expanding and will be opening the first Lego innovation studio in Wales to educate children in key stage two, three and four, in full robotics and engineering.
