A PENSIONER was shocked to see her wedding day photo in The South Wales Argus – 56 years after it was taken.

St Anne’s charity volunteer, Patricia Pearson, 70, found the old photograph in the Malpas Road shop last week and we ran an appeal to find the picture’s owner in the newspaper.

Julie Price said: “When I saw the picture I recognised it straight away as my mother’s wedding day as my two cousins Marion Kingdon and Norma Secker are in it. We have no idea how it got there, we can only assume a relative took it to the shop by accident when donating items.”

The picture shows Bessie Price’s bridesmaids in 1956.

Mrs Price, 76, from Malpas said: “A lot of our family live in the area so maybe it was inside a book. I don’t even think I have that picture, so it will be nice to add it to my collection.”
