A MAN was found dead in Cwmbran this morning.
A Gwent Police spokesman said it is suspected the man, who was in his 40s and from Pontypool, committed suicide in the field behind Pontryhydrun Road.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and his immediate family have been informed.
A man running through the field found the dead man's body at about 7.15am. Paramedics have taken it to the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The field was closed to the public when the body was found but has since reopened.
