AN HISTORIC family butcher has made one Newport couple’s Christmas with a hamper.
Turner A D & Sons in Newport market launched a hamper giveaway raffle over the Christmas period to give one lucky customer the chance to win a meat hamper worth £100.
Luck winners Bernard Roderick, 64, and wife Gwynneth, 61, have been regular customers of the family butchers for 25 years.
Mrs Roderick was delighted with the win and plans to use the food for her Christmas dinner.
“We entered the raffle and didn’t think anything of it, but then we got the phone call to say that we had won it. We will be sorted for Christmas. We have been coming to this butcher for 25 years.”
