A NEWPORT social enterprise is enjoying business growth and has extended its range of products.
The Argus reported earlier this year how Cre8, a glass etching project in Newport launched by homeless charity Solas, was helping homeless people gain skills to make them ready for employment.
More than 60 homeless men and women have been involved in the enterprise and contributed to its success which has seen more work opportunities created and the range of products and customer base extended.
Cre8 has ventured out of their etched glassware and awards niche into a range of bespoke and retail ready Welsh slate products and there has been a surge in the demand for Cre8’s products across the UK.
Dawn Bevan, head of Cre8 services, said: “Cre8 has given over 60 people supported by Solas the opportunity to develop both their skills and confidence, while gaining invaluable work experience, enabling them to move onto lasting independence and a more positive future.
