A NEWPORT school celebrated Christmas with a festive performance for family and friends.

Around 60 children from years three and four of St Woolos Primary School took part in the school production of Tinsel and Tea Towels.

The play is based around the story of pupils preparing for the school’s Christmas production while the inspectors are in.

Head teacher Heather Vaughn said: “This is the first time we have done this play, as we try to do new plays whenever we get the chance.

“The play is a musical set around a school putting on a Christmas production while the inspectors are in the same week.

“Pupils put on their tinsel and tea towels for the play at the end of the show.”
