SEARCHES have continued for missing Newport father, Ben Caplan, as sightings continue to be reported.

Speaking to the Argus on Wednesday, Mrs Caplan said there had been a possible sighting of Ben reported in Newport town centre sitting in a doorway on Tuesday.

Gwent Police are continuing to investigate and check CCTV for all sightings. None have yet to be confirmed.

Mr Caplan, 30, was last seen in Caerleon on Saturday December 7. He was reported missing the next day by his wife Danielle, who he lives with in Bond Street Newport, with six-month-old baby Jude and step son Evan, 5.

Writing on the ‘Help Find Ben Caplan’ Facebook page yesterday, Mrs Caplan said: “Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone for your continued overwhelming support in trying to bring my husband home.”

Volunteers searched the river again on Wednesday, from the Transporter bridge down to the estuary.

Mr Caplan, who works in the circulation department at the South Wales Argus, is described as white, 5’9” tall, of a slight build with shoulder length straight brown hair.

He has tattoos on both arms as well as his back and chest. He is originally from Glasgow and has a Scottish accent.

Anyone with information should call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log number 295 08/12/13.
