A PONTYPOOL pub has played host to a Christmas family fun day organised by a Gwent law firm for charity.

Watkins & Gunn Solicitors hosted the event at the Unicorn in Pontypool for staff, their children, and relatives to raise money for the Noah’s Ark Appeal.

More than 30 staff and 20 children attended, with party games and a meet-and-greet with Santa all part of the festivities.

Gifts were also handed out to those present.

A raffle raised money for the charity, which exclusively fundraises for the Children’s Hospital for Wales.

The firm’s staff donated money to wear Christmas jumpers to the office to raise further funds.

Clive Thomas, managing partner of Watkins & Gunn, said: “Given the nature of our Christmas bash, it was fitting that we raise money for the Children’s Hospital of Wales. The Noah’s Ark Appeal is a fantastic charity that makes a huge difference. We hope our donation will go some way to helping those children less fortunate this Christmas.”

Since its launch in 2000, the Noah’s Ark Appeal has raised millions of pounds to build phase one of the very first Children’s Hospital for Wales.
