MISS Top Model Gwent will be competing to be named the best in Wales at a pageant in Cardiff in the New Year.

Shara Dillon, 21, who lives in Newport, will be competing at the Top Model of Wales competition at The Wharf on Sunday, January 12, for the right to represent the country at the Top Model of the World competition in Egypt in April.

If the former Caerleon Comprehensive School pupil wins she will also win a modelling package worth £500, a £250 package from a hair salon in Cardiff and the opportunity to be an ambassador for the Welsh Air Ambulance, which is supporting the pageant.

She said the chance to represent the charity would be a “great opportunity”.

About 40 regional winners will compete in the Top Model of Wales grand final, each taking the title of their home town.

They will compete in fashionwear, eveningwear and interview rounds.

The competition said it has no preferred look for winners and encourages girls and women of “all shapes and sizes to enter”.
