Newport councillors say they were not consulted about gang leader Joland Giwa's relocation to the city

ANGER is growing tonight about the way gang leader Joland Giwa was relocated to Newport.

Local councillors say they, like MP Paul Flynn, had not been consulted on the move.

Councillor for Stow Hill ward, which includes York Place, Miqdad Al-Nuaimi said:

“I’m quite concerned that something like this should happen. As a local councillor I learned of the news from the Argus.

“I was really concerned as this is in an area where we have people who have had more than their fair share of anti-social behaviour.

“I would feel let down as a resident in York Place that I was not told about it.”

Mr Al-Nuami said several residents had contacted him and that he had since written to the local neighbourhood policing team.

Opposition leader Councillor Matthew Evans said: “Quite frankly I’m pretty shocked and appalled this can happen in this day and age- that a known convicted criminal can be relocated to Newport without people knowing about it.

“I just find it totally unacceptable. It’s very frustrating.”

Councillor David Fouweather said: “I’m surprised they have housed in Newport when he doesn’t have any links to the area.

“I would like to know if the leader of the council knew and if so what has he done to ensure the safety of the public?"

The Clown Council have demonstrated there chuckle brother like incompetence on everthing they do.

Would being consulted on the issue changed the outcome? we all know the answer to that one.

I hope the S W A keeps putting pressure on having this scum bag sent back to London ( assuming he is in York place ? ) preferably back to his original Country.... This Government managed to get rid of the last undesirable so surely it can be done again ?
If this becomes ' old news ' he will have one the day !
Might be nice to NO who had him sent here if possible ?

Why do the likes of fouweather and the tory group leader get column space when the issue doesn't concern their wards (not that they have many, thankfully). Fed up the tory attempts at political points scoring, even though its their government that have caused most of the recent problems in Newport (including this unsavoury issue).
Sort it out argus.

This is the town council's blessing in disguise and they know it!
1.Nobody is talking about Bob Poole being rubbish at his job.
2. Nobody is discussing how the council tore down the chartrist's mural without any public consultation.
3.Nobody is talking about how conniving and undemocratic Bob Dim and the town council are.
4.Nobody is talking about how Rose Butler doesn't deserve her new plastic title of dame.
In fact all anyone is talking about is how a guy, that social security must have known was coming, turned up unannounced in town.
Really???
Is this the best you can come up with?

having contacted jessica morden on this matter this is her lackeys reply :-
Thank you for your email. I am sorry but from the address details given you are not a constituent, there is a strict Parliamentary protocol that means that MPs may only act on behalf of their own constituents. I can confirm however that Paul Flynn MP has written to the Home Office and Jessica supports that action.

my reply to him :-
may i congratulate you for playing the "ostrich " not on my doorstep , as im sure you realise if you ever came to newport that a 5 minute bus ride from this " thugs " current address is Newport East where im sure he will find more converts for his " gang " unless we do something about it NOW .try playing the united front with Paul and at least try acting " OUTRAGED " as i'm sure the government will surely notice this . and maybe if your lucky move this " THUG " from york place to a bail address in newport east ( a 5 minute taxi Drive ) as you don't seem to mind about this " THUGS " past so would welcome him to your constituency . Please Take this seriously Before This " THUG " has a chance to cement himself into newport and get him moved NOW .
