Con artists hunted after Ringland OAP tricked

First published in News

TWO con men are being hunted by police after an elderly woman was duped in Newport.

The duo called at the address of their victim on Dunstable Road, Ringland, on Thursday December 19, pretending to be from a local paving company.

The men did some unfinished work on her driveway, taking £50 for the service.

But on checking with the paving company, it became apparent the pair were not genuine.

To date they have not returned to the address.

The men were described as having Irish accents and were using a white van. If you live in the area and have witnessed anything suspicious, or have any information relating to this incident, please call 101 quoting log 19/12/13.
