IT IS now four weeks since Nida Naseer went missing.

The shy teenager left her home in Newport to put the bins out on December 28. She has not been seen since.

Nida did not have her mobile phone with her and it is believed she was not wearing shoes at the time of her disappearance.

Today is her 19th birthday.

Yesterday her family released an emotional video appealing for Nida to come home.

We hope Nida, or someone who knows where she is, sees the video.

We hope it results in her returning or being returned to her family.

In four weeks there have been no sightings of Nida and police have no leads despite extensive searches of a number of areas of the city.

Her fellow students at Coleg Gwent's Nash campus have handed out leaflets about her disappearance, and posters have been placed on the Newport Bus fleet.

Yet still there is no sign of the teenager.

If you have any information about Nida, however insignificant you might think it is, we urge you to contact the police.

The situation becomes more worrying with every day that passes.

And this is one story that we hope and pray has a happy ending.
