NEW facilities will be built and others will be upgraded as part of a £500,000 investment at the National Diving and Activity Centre in Chepstow.
The centre’s manager Chris Gleadow said it normally receives about 150 to 200 visitors on a busy Saturday or Sunday.
An off-road Segway course, 12 new deluxe wigwams and a £100,000 3G swing will be installed as part of the plans.
Mr Gleadow said: “I cannot wait. I think it’s all great fun.”
The wigwams are expected to be completed by Easter. They will be built just above the edge of the centre’s quarry and will include an indoor shower, a double bed, a sofa bed, a toilet and a kitchen area.
The centre also hopes it will be able to offer sports massage, facials and “pamper experiences” soon.
A 35-tonne steel trawler has also been purchased for divers. It will be submerged and used as an underwater attraction to simulate wreck diving experiences. The centre already has a zipwire.
