Is £8k home in Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent the cheapest house in the UK?

South Wales Argus: UK'S CHEAPEST HOUSE? This property in Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent will go up for auction with a guide price of £8,000 UK'S CHEAPEST HOUSE? This property in Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent will go up for auction with a guide price of £8,000

A VALLEYS property being dubbed one of the cheapest houses on the UK market will be put up for sale next month.

The one-bedroomed terraced house, in Brynmawr, has a guide price of just £8,000, also features an outdoor toilet.

Paul Fosh, managing director of Paul Fosh Auctions in Newport, who will be conducting the auction, said: “The mid terrace property, number 3 King Street, is in a popular location and is well placed for access to the arterial A465 Heads of the Valleys link road.

“The house has UPVC double glazing with lounge and kitchen on the ground floor and single bedroom above. There’s a garden at the front and rear but you’ll have to have a resilient constitution as the loo is outside.

“The compact and appealing property, which could make an ideal commuter pad, would ideally benefit from full renovation and this is reflected in the keen guide price we’ve set at auction.”

The next Paul Fosh Auction, when this property and some 70 others will be up for sale, is on Thursday, February 13, starting at 5pm at The Park Inn Hotel, in Llanedeyrn. For more details visit paulfoshauctions.com.

That would be worth 2 million in London and you would have to join a very long queue to get it.

No its not ! In Stoke on Trent you can buy a house from the local authority for just 50p. Its obviously in an area that needs regeneration. The conditions are that you have to live in it for 5 years minimum and pay for the building work yourself although there are grants available !
