THERE seems to be something in the water at a Cwmbran solicitors as seven of their 45-strong staff have given birth or fallen pregnant since July.

Kicking off the trend at Quality Solicitors Rubin Lewis O’Brien, was Victoria Morgan, 33, a solicitor who lives in Cwmbran.

She gave birth to her first child, Max, in July.

“I’m getting the blame for starting it off. Obviously I’m a trend-setter,” she said.

Three months later, her colleague Laura Selby, 30, also a solicitor from Cwmbran, gave birth to her first child, Charlotte.

In December, fellow solicitor, Angharad Morris, 30, gave birth to her first child, Olivia.

The three are now in a prime position to answer any of their colleagues’ baby related questions, as four of the staff prepare to give birth later this year.

Solicitor Helen Barry, 31, is due to give birth on March 21 to her first baby.

Then in April, Joanna Hiscocks, 33, a solicitor who lives in Monmouthshire, is due to give birth to her first child.

In total this makes five of the company’s 20 solicitors either having a baby in 2013 or preparing for an arrival in 2014.

Experienced mum-of-two, Rebecca Baker, 28, a legal secretary, is due to give birth to her third child in July.

She said: “I always wanted three children and seeing the other babies and the fact my colleagues were pregnant definitely made me broody.”

Finally, Vicky Marshall, 31, a legal secretary who lives in Newport, is due to give birth to her first child sometime in August.

She joked: “I was obviously feeling really left out so had to join in.”

Sharing her knowledge with the first time mums, Ms Baker, said: “My advice is mums shouldn’t forget to think about themselves too.

“What works for one mum doesn’t always work for another so just do what you think and everything will fall into place.”

Company partner, Jerome O’Brien, said: “I am delighted that we have had such a fruitful year, and look forward to welcoming our new mums back to work soon.”
