B4246 closed due to flooding between Llanelen Road (Llanfoist) and The Avenue (Govilon).

UPDATE: 10.14am

A FLOOD warning is still in place for undefended areas of the River Wye at Monmouth today.

Other parts of Monmouthshire experienced flooding yesterday with the River Usk bursting its banks at Llanfoist.

A statement from the Environment Agency said the level at Monmouth was 4.6 metres and steady and that river levels are not expected to rise significantly but will continue around this level for the next few hours.

They added the rowing club underpass gates have been closed.

The level at Grosmont was 1.2 metres and falling with a peak level of 3.7 metres occurred at 7.30am yesterday.
