Power cut hits Coedkernew area of Newport

Western Power Distribution have confirmed that power to Coedkernew, Duffryn and the NP10 postcode area has been restored.
HUNDREDS of homes in the Coedkernew area of Newport are currently without electricity due to an underground cable fault.
Western Power Distribution was alerted to the fault at 3.28pm when 1,508 customers lost power. Within one minute they were able to get 882 back on to an alternative supply.
There are currently 669 customers still without power. Western Power have said and engineers are on the way to the incident now.
The Western Power Distribution spokeswoman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
